The Pioneer Woman’s Pineapple Upside Down Cake

This Cake was Perfect in absolutely every way! I did not find it on Ree’s blog but only in her cookbook; which I checked out from my local library. The Pioneer Woman Cookbook.

Pioneer Woman’s Homemade Doughnuts

I’ve never made doughnuts before and I couldn’t have done it without Ree’s step by step instructions. If you don’t know about the Pioneer Woman, you don’t know much! When you get to know her, you will wonder how you ever did without her! She is a Mom, Wife, Photographer, Gourmet Cook and she lives on a Horse Ranch in Oklahoma. I first heard about her when some friends raved about her recipes loaded with butter and so I found her blog and then checked out her new cookbook from the library. I’m so impressed with the layout of the cookbook with pictures and precise directions for each recipe. I’ve made 6 recipes and my family is giving me “that-was-so-good” compliments for every one. If you could see me now, I’m sitting up (it’s also good for my posture) with pride and BEAMING! GLOWING ALL OVER!

The Homemade Doughnuts were very similar to “Krispy Kreme” (a donut franchise that we travel 40 minutes to get to the nearest one just for the doughnuts!)

My daughter Anna and her friend Kate (or Fred? she won’t tell me her real name!) helped me with the dough the night before and the morning of. I bought a new deep fryer thermometer at Walmart for about $3 in preparation for the event…and indeed, it was a worthy event!
