Thanks for stopping in for some Christmas Cheer!

So, this year was my second “Mini” Vegetable Garden. At first I was afraid nothing was growing but then I finally got some foliage: Peas, a few carrots & radishes, one sunflower (a lovely surprise!), Nastursioms, Zinnias and pumpkins. (and lots of weeds)
I had planted a few other things that didn’t show up: watermelon, cucumbers, lettuce, etc. I had seeds from up to 5 years ago. I wonder if that was part of the problem!
I’m going to add compost after the first hard frost because that’s what I read was good in preparation for next year’s garden!
My friend Liz just throws her compost right on the garden spot straight from her kitchen. I might have to try that.
Next year I’m going to have lovely Metal Utensil Plant Markers. I got a metal letter/number Stamp kit at Harbor Freight Tool store and I found a tutorial on the web. I’ll share later.
That’s all from Mel’s Garden.

These pics of the sunflowers are really happy and sunny. A perfect ending of summer – which is almost over. Yikes!
