Time to Mend *again*

Made this baby quilt when I was 10 or 12 years old

Made this baby quilt when I was 10 or 12 years old

This baby quilt was one of my first sewing projects. Soon, I will mend it and add new padding inside and display it somewhere. I’ve noticed that in the last few months I’ve done a lot of fixing and mending and I’m enjoying it.

I love the color combination; such great colors for Spring!

Ya, Know, it’s something, isn’t it? I’m in my 30′s and I LOVE old stuff. Junk that can be transformed…antiques…Color really makes me happy:D

I love the Pacific Northwest and the colors in Nature and our area has a lot to offer as far as Junk and Antiques. I’m frugal, by nature, and so hunting for the BEST deal takes me to garage sales and the local dump. I’ve been addicted to the “Vivid” setting on my camera as well…capturing the deep colors; my favorites are Green, Red, Yellow and Blue. However, seasonally I always have an especially favorite color that pops out at me. This season it has been bright yellow! What is your favorite color or collectible right now?!

I purchased this adorable toaster cover to hide my VERY ugly toaster.

So, this is the next installment of our local Lynden, Washington Spring Craft & Antique Fair. Hope you’re still enjoying it, because I’ve got more and the best is yet to come. Including these businesses: Back Lane Gardens, Home Deconomics, Hip Hip Hurrah Pinwheel, and Wooly Mama.

Also coming soon: 4 Layered Chocolate Cake with Heavy Whipping Cream, Streuselkuchen (a German style crumb dessert that has received RAVE reviews for years in my husband’s family). and maybe sooner than later: Canning Chicken.

Now that I’ve uploaded a few more pics, I’ve fallen in love AGAIN with Country Cottage Living. That’s how I describe my love for Antiques, Crafts, Country, Cottage, Farm, Farm Animals, Garden, Home Cooking, Canning, Junking and so on!

I give a lot of credit to my favorite magazine: Country Living. It inspires me. I have 3 Aunts that all have “Country and/or Cottage” decorating themes and ways of livin’. They inspired me. I always felt so at home in their homes. Since I was a child, I aspired to Craft, make something out of nothing and scrounge for treasures among JUNK! You could say it is a PASSION. And I love blogging about it. Pictures are Therapy for me and when I see my life in pictures; I’m so thankful that dreams do come true.

Today, these are the “Almost” Free Things I’m thankful for:

My Family

a Home to sleep, work and play in

Living in a Country where I feel Safe walking in my neighborhood

Food that tastes good.

A yard to grow flowers and whatever I want

Friends

Smiles & Hugs

I’ve gotten all sentimental making this list, if you were with me you would hopefully crack a joke so we could move from quiet humility to  joys shared when “kindred spirits” are together.

Well, thankful thoughts are good for the soul.

One more thing I’m thankful for: being married to the RIGHT Man for 14 years; Happy Anniversary to Us!

Also, Hello to my new Facebook Friends; thanks for “Liking” this site.

GARDEN, ANTIQUES, CRAFTS; what could be better?

I wish I could post more pics at a time but my computer or WordPress kept moving things around and taking things away last week every time I posted. VERY frustrating. So, this week I’m being careful not to post too many pics at once. Otherwise, Bad Things Can Happen.

So, please BE Patient with me! – You have no choice!

Eventually, I will post some specific pics and their business link.

On a side note, YOU KNOW that saying, “The Best Things in Life Are Free.” Which I think is a really positive thought for me to dwell on when I’m feeling sorry for myself.

Well…there is another saying I just discovered, “The Worst Things in Life are also Free.” Oh, my!

Just thought I’d throw that little tidbit your way!

After you sympathize with yourself, focus on all the great free things in your life; whether it be people or “things.”

I’ll share my list soon. It will cheer us all up! Feel free to share yours!
