On our way to Lake Chelan, in Eastern WA, we went through Leavenworth and stopped in Peshastin, WA at Smallwood’s Harvest. We had some wonderful fruit and Paninis and I found a steal of a deal on these Fruit Labels. I’m having my husband make some rustic frames for them. I’ll post the final look soon!

Old Red Tool Box Planter

Old Red Tool Box Planter

On one of my excursions to the local dump to see what I could find – I found this old solid metal Duplex Tool Box. I first put a large plastic garbage bag to line it. (I cut it a bit bigger than the size needed.) Filled with potting soil, extra nutrients, some flowers and tucked in moss on top to cover the edges (where the plastic bag is showing) and to give it that last touch of Country Cottage Charm!

Ya, Know, it’s something, isn’t it? I’m in my 30′s and I LOVE old stuff. Junk that can be transformed…antiques…Color really makes me happy:D

I love the Pacific Northwest and the colors in Nature and our area has a lot to offer as far as Junk and Antiques. I’m frugal, by nature, and so hunting for the BEST deal takes me to garage sales and the local dump. I’ve been addicted to the “Vivid” setting on my camera as well…capturing the deep colors; my favorites are Green, Red, Yellow and Blue. However, seasonally I always have an especially favorite color that pops out at me. This season it has been bright yellow! What is your favorite color or collectible right now?!

I’m thankful to my husband for taking the time to make me the best present ever! A potting bench with a sink! He used Barn Wood, a free Black Iron Wrought Fence Panel (thanks Lyndsey), and a $3 sink and some Shabby Chic hooks I’ve had a long time needing a home.

Now that I’ve uploaded a few more pics, I’ve fallen in love AGAIN with Country Cottage Living. That’s how I describe my love for Antiques, Crafts, Country, Cottage, Farm, Farm Animals, Garden, Home Cooking, Canning, Junking and so on!

I give a lot of credit to my favorite magazine: Country Living. It inspires me. I have 3 Aunts that all have “Country and/or Cottage” decorating themes and ways of livin’. They inspired me. I always felt so at home in their homes. Since I was a child, I aspired to Craft, make something out of nothing and scrounge for treasures among JUNK! You could say it is a PASSION. And I love blogging about it. Pictures are Therapy for me and when I see my life in pictures; I’m so thankful that dreams do come true.

Today, these are the “Almost” Free Things I’m thankful for:

My Family

a Home to sleep, work and play in

Living in a Country where I feel Safe walking in my neighborhood

Food that tastes good.

A yard to grow flowers and whatever I want

Friends

Smiles & Hugs

I’ve gotten all sentimental making this list, if you were with me you would hopefully crack a joke so we could move from quiet humility to  joys shared when “kindred spirits” are together.

Well, thankful thoughts are good for the soul.

One more thing I’m thankful for: being married to the RIGHT Man for 14 years; Happy Anniversary to Us!
