My Country Cottage Home Tour

cottage living room

Recently I wanted to practice my interior photography with lights on and using a flash...(I normally love natural light images...) So I cleaned up the main area in our home {real good} and now you can see the living room, dining room and kitchen; Country Cottage Style! My Country Cottage Home Tour (part of it, for now!)

The living room (above) features 2 free white slipcovered chairs, Entertainment Center drawers built by my hubby, end tables and coffee table built by my hubby, and shabby chic pillows made from vintage sheets. Some of my photography was framed by hubby and I (near the mirror). The chalkboard (below) was made by my hubby. Dream Garden Woodworks!

Most of the wood furniture was made by my hubby of Dream Garden Woodworks! He has almost completed his new shop where he will finally have a place to call his own.

I enjoy our little humble home! We've lived a lot of places but everything here is peaceful and I am content. My Country Cottage Home Tour moves into the Dining Room where a massive rustic hutch resides holding all my favorite dishes and vases. The oilcloth bunting was inspired this year from a Pinterest image.

The farmhouse style dining table was part of a rustic table my hubby pulled from a barn and repurposed...

When we moved here two years ago the kitchen cabinets matched the color of the floors. I knew I wanted them white and used my own chalk paint mix to paint (didn't even take a gallon!) (it's a small kitchen 🙂

Summer Country Bike Rides

country bike rides This week I went down my "country road" and foraged wildflowers and brought along my newest quilt and one of my favorite books, The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady. I brought my camera and played with the sunshine and the flowers...Country Bike Rides are bliss! The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady The quilt was inspired by the "Holly Hobbie" fabric given to me by a friend...I call it my "kindred spirit" quilt. summer evening bike ride My trusty old bike got a new paint job this Summer. My son spray painted over the bright navy blue and made it white. (it was a harder job than it sounds; google some tutorials before you try it!) upcycled quilt and wildflowers study The evening light and all my "pretties" in front of the camera took my breath away... July wildflowers in the PNW July is almost over...I'm trying not to jump ahead to looking forward to the next Season but I guess it's natural...making a Fall dream list but still relishing these Summer days and all that goes with it...especially Country Bike Rides!
