a little TLC and a dream realized

Do you ever feel in need of some “tender loving care”?

I have the past few days.

I hit a wall of exhaustion and made it clear to my family that I needed help and some extra lov’in. They responded and I feel much better.

In the same way, our new “old” house needs some TLC and I love it that I get to “play” and spruce things up.

 Just a side note,

When I started blogging 2 years ago, I blogged about my home, cooking recipes, craft projects: the aspects of my life which fit into the “Country Cottage Living” theme. I decided not to get too personal and I wanted it to be positive and lead me toward something special.

As I journaled/blogged, I realized what I really wanted and wished for: a home in the country with space for my husband’s woodworking, a possible showroom to sell and show our things and a spot for chickens and a few other animals…

When I realized that I really wanted this, I searched for a way to make it happen. We finally found a home to rent that felt like “home” and we moved. I feel like I accomplished something great just by realizing what I wanted and I feel grateful that we get to play at “country living.”

I kept my dream alive by blogging about what I wanted and photographing cows while taking a drive in the country.

Starting now, I’ll blog about my experiences here in this 100 year old farmhouse on 5 acres. Will my dream always be happy and bright or will it have a few nightmares? Come back and see!

  1. Can’t wait to follow you on this journey! And I firmly believe in making our dreams happen. If I didn’t do that 16 years ago, we’d still be living in a condo instead of in our little old house. My husband would have been fine with that, but not me, and not our daughter. Love your sweet porch with the little red wagon, and that path leading to your home. It’s magical!

  2. so excited that you’ve made this happen! looking forward to reading and seeing all your progress.
thank you so much for the lovely buntings! so sweet and special delivery too!!!
